Special viewing of the Abyssinia Expedition Collection at the FIELD MUSEUM

The general admission charge for the museum is $10. There is no additional charge for our special viewing.

There will be a sign in the lobby instructing us where to go.

This historic collection from the museum's Abyssinian Expedition of 1926–27 includes 113 original pencil and watercolor zoological field studies by famed ornithological painter Louis Agassiz Fuertes, the C.S. Cutting film of the expedition, and other materials.

Thursday 8/5 after the Field Museum program
Mike McCaskey, chairman of the board of the Chicago Bears football team, will take those interested on a tour of Soldier Field, the new stadium of the Bears.

The field is next to the museum.

The balcony has been reserved for our group.

Space limitations necessitate that the get-together be limited to 50 people.

Friday 8/6, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m
E&E RPCVs will have a table at the INTERNATIONAL MARKETPLACE (Booth #4) to meet and greet and gather. Clare Shea and Arthur Andersen (both Debre Marcos 65–67) will be selling a variety of items to support a DM library library project, and Judy Smith (Asmara 63–65) will be selling African jewelry made by girls from a shelter in Senegal.

$20 each includes tax and gratuity (cash bar)

Buffet that will include at least six different meat and vegetable dishes and salad, and includes a soft drink (Coke, Diet Coke, or Sprite). Beer and wine and other drinks will be available from the cash bar. The menu will include doro wett, kye wett, ciga alecha, messir or kik wett, etc., plus injera.

Live Afro-jazz, recorded Ethiopian music, dancing possible!
