Ethiopia & Eritrea RPCVs dinner at the Ethiopian Embassy

$35 per person (This covers the meal, service, gratuity, plus rental of tables, chairs, linens and dishware.)

There will be a limit of 150 attendees for this event.

You MUST RSVP to Gloria Gieseke Curtis at Don_Curtis@msn.com by June 10th but the sooner the better. No requests for reservations will be taken after June 10th.

Priority for reservations will be given to those who are registered for the conference (plus their spouses or guests) through June 5th. Reservations for non-registrants will be received on a first-come-first-served basis beginning immediately, and will be confirmed beginning June 6th.

Payment: At the same time that you make your reservation, send a check for this event, made out to "E&E RPCVs" to Marian Haley Beil, 4 Lodge Pole Road, Pittsford NY 14534. please note on the check "For E&E Dinner."

The dinner will feature a buffet of Ethiopian foods and drinks catered by the Addis Ababa Restaurant. It will be followed by a demonstration of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony by LaDena Robichaud Schnapper (Dessie, Awassa 63–66)

A special "thank you" goes to Courtney Arnold and Judy Smith the coordinators for the dinner.

Doro Wat
(chicken cooked and perfectly simmered with seasoned sauce of berebere. Served with hard boiled egg)
Yebeg Alicha
(fresh and tender lamb cooked with berbere and spiced)
(collard greens sauteed with onions, green peppers cooked with tumeric, seasoned and spiced)
Yatakilt Wat
(fresh carrots, potatoes, string beans, and peppers cooked with tumeric, seasoned and spiced)

Shiro or Mesir [probably Mesir]
(split lentil cooked with berebere and garlic)

Volunteers needed
Dinner coordinators Courtney Arnold (Asbe Tefari 64–66) and Judy Smith (Asmara 63–65) need some volunteers to help with the dinner. Those living in the DC area are especially welcome. Photos wanted
The Embassy has display space that they invite us to use during the dinner to exhibit photos from our Peace Corps service. Snapshots — or preferably, blowups of snapshots — are welcome. Write you name clearly on the back of each photo, as well as descriptive information. Send to Courtney Arnold, 3326 19th St NW, Washington DC 20010. Projector needed
We need to borrow a Kodak carousel projector with the automatic advance feature for the dinner. If you can loan one, please contact Judy Smith at smarmayor@aol.com.
